As we begin to age, our skin cells begin to turn over more slowly and often build up on the face leaving a dull and tired complexion. By utilizing a microdermabrasion treatment, it stimulates the skins cells to begin reproducing more rapidly creating a younger healthier looking you. Microdermabrasion is a minimally abrasive treatment that gently exfoliates and polishes away the thicker outer layer of dead skin. Microdermabrasion is non invasive and a chemical free way to help remove fine lines, wrinkles, crows feet, age and sun spots and even acne scars.
How Does it Work?
The treatment is performed by utilizing fine pressurized crystals to exfoliate the skin's outer layer. The process also helps to stimulate collagen and elastin growth. Skin texture and color will improve dramatically leaving your face feeling more supple and vibrant.
Would I be a Candidate?
Microdermabrasion is effective on all skin types and colors and can be used to treat the appearance of scars, discoloration, sun damage and stretch marks. There is minimal downtime, generally no more than 24 hours, and produces dramatic results.
Patients with fine facial lines or wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, clogged pores, skin texture problems, or minor scars are good candidates for microdermabrasion. Patients with rosacea or acne may also benefit from microdermabrasion treatments. The gentle spray of microcrystals can eliminate or improve skin imperfections and conditions by removing the upper layer of dead and damaged skin cells to reveal new, fresh skin.
The ideal candidates for microdermabrasion are healthy adults who have relatively minor skin conditions or imperfections and realistic expectations about what microdermabrasion can and cannot do. Because microdermabrasion is a mild, non-invasive procedure that cannot remedy sagging skin or correct deep facial creases or folds, such issues must be addressed with procedures such as face lift, laser skin tightening.
